These hand painted and lacquered woodframes are like none other. There are three parts to their creations, first an underlay of stain or paint is applied to the wood. Second - a casein emulsion and pigment are mixed and used as a glaze which is applied with metal and rubber combs, brushes, rags, sponges, fists and fingers, and third - Several rich layers of lacquer are applied to protect the work and give it a satin feel like that of a piano finish.
Each frame is one of a kind and can vary slightly from photograph.
